Absolutely stellar! We had a tight timeline and completed our project within our schedule. Being a designer and having worked on many remodeling projects I always expected projects to drag on....not this time. We completed complete replacement of drywall, patching and mudding, painting, tiling and baseboard install all within a few weeks. A clean jobsite, excellent communication and expectation management were all great extras. Any change orders were all within expectations. Her crew is professional and extremely experienced.
Danielle is wonderful...easy to work with, timely, professional and completely fabulous. I look forward to a long working relationship based on this wonderful experience.

I had some guitars to hang up and other odds and ends to fix (quake proof some shelves, hang some pictures, hooks, etc.), and was truly afraid of my plaster and lathe rented walls - having had to fix numerous odd sized holes and cracks I've made in the past. Danielle came (right on the dot if not a little early, which worked great for me), and put me at ease very quickly. She is an absolute pro, with 2#+ years of experience, and she was fun, interesting, and easy to be with as well. So now I have no reason to fret over my odds/ends/ (honey-dos I think they're called), because I can call Danielle. The other plus is that she teaches as she does her thing, which I really appreciated.
I highly recommend her, and think that her classes would make great housewarming present for anyone!

I hired Jill of All Trades to paint the interior of my home. It had been over 15 years and the walls and ceiling were a mess. Danielle Hupp was extremely professional, efficient, and meticulous. She did a beautiful job, and kept the disruption to a minimum, cleaning up after herself and moving back furniture every day. I was very pleased with all aspects of the project.

Danielle is the utmost in a moral businesswoman. Her work is perfect, she knows a lot after 26 years in the contracting business. I took her painting class so now I feel like I can get all my painting completed myself.

I have taken all of the classes except painting and tiling. I really want to take the tiling class now that I see it has a big element of creativity. I loved the plumbing and electrical wiring classes, and the confidence they gave me. But by far my favorite is carpentry. All my life since I was a kid I've wanted to know how to make a simple box, because I figured, if I could do that, I could build just about anything. My ultimate goal is to build loft stairs. Hopefully there will be an advanced carpentry class soon!

Hello,
Good point about home improvement saving money, but only when you know what you're doing. My partner and I just took classes from Jill of All Trades in San Francisco in Basic Plumbing (1 day) and Basic Electrical Wiring (2 days.) The classes are taught by licensed professionals and the cost is reasonable, especially considering the cost of hiring a plumber ($125/hr) or an electrician ($95/hr.) We can now fix our own toilets, repair leaky faucets and maybe even reduce the maintenance costs on our rentals. Lynn
Here's the website - the owner of this business is Danielle Hupp. http://www.jillofalltrades.net

We recently had Danielle out to do a Home Maintenance "Check-Up" -- the peace of mind we got was worth more than the cost of the inspection. She uncovered a few problems we could fix easily now that would have been expensive repairs if they hadn't been caught early (insect and drainage pipe issue). She also helped us sort out the "must do" projects vs the "can wait awhile" projects, with helpful suggestions for things we could do ourselves. My partner and I both felt so much more confident and good about our home afterward. Thank you , Danielle!

Danielle I love your hands-on, how-to classes! The "Basic Plumbing” class probably saved me a $500 plumber fee, for, after learning about basic, do-it-yourself faucet maintenance (and taking apart and putting faucets back together in class), I went home and fixed the weird knocking sound coming from my upstairs bathroom faucet with an $18.95 faucet cartridge. I also fixed the stubborn water flow of my kitchen and downstairs bathroom faucets with the simple maintenance tips I learned in class.
I also learned a LOT in your "Basic Carpentry" class and I truly appreciated the hands-on experience of building a flower box. (The fact that you noticed I was using the "combination square" incorrectly and you then showed me the correct way to use it demonstrated the added benefit of doing a supervised hands-on project. The fact that I now know what a "combination square" is quite amazing to me!)
Thank you for putting together these helpful and empowering sessions for us novices!

Jan. 19-20, 2008 I attended the JOAT basic electrical workshop, and I couldn't be happier with the results. There was a ton of hands on experience, loads of personal attention and great attention paid to safety and code. I highly recommend it to anyone...and have already to several of my friends. The instructor, Cheri, is a licensed electrical contractor, was very patient with us novices, and did a thorough job of teaching us how to do several common, practical wiring projects that would come up in any household. I came right home and installed electrical outlets in my house!

Danielle has been in the construction business for over 27 years. She's very direct, honest, and ethical. I'm a GC and have used Danielle's services when clients of mine need a consult on an area that I don't have expertise in. I've taken classes with Danielle and know that she packs a lot of good, basic information into a brief time period. She is truly committed to empowering people to understand how their homes function and to either make needed repairs themselves or to interact effectively with contractors.
